We are Katarzyna and Mateusz Skrzyniecki—a mother-and-son writing and illustrating team based in Highland Park, Illinois. We are united by our love for people, art, healthy living, and lifelong learning.
As explorers at heart, we continually discover new cultures, ideas, and the beauty found in everyday life, bringing that curiosity into every story and illustration we create.
Katarzyna is a writer and illustrator who combines her professional background in health care with her passion for education, interior design, creativity, and holistic well-being. Her creative journey began with writing and illustrating educational stories for her son, transforming learning into an imaginative adventure they could share. Her knowledge of health and wellness, together with her refined eye for harmony, color, and thoughtful detail, enriches both her storytelling and visual art. She creates with empathy and imagination, believing that children learn best when education is filled with curiosity, beauty, joy, and love.
Mateusz is a writer, illustrator, visual design artist, and PhD candidate. His creative work brings together storytelling, illustration, education, and social insight. Thoughtful and imaginative, he believes that words and images can inspire emotion, deepen understanding, encourage empathy, and create meaningful connections. He approaches every story and illustration with curiosity, compassion, and a desire to make a positive difference.
Together, we write, illustrate, and develop meaningful creative projects that unite education with imagination. We believe in the power of stories and art to encourage curiosity, kindness, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Whether we are writing, illustrating, designing, cooking, teaching, traveling, or simply enjoying a beautiful walk or thoughtful conversation, our purpose remains the same: to bring more beauty, wellness, wonder, and inspiration into everyday life.
